Places and Attractions to visit in Turkey:

Altrinkum is a resort on the shore of the Aegean Sea in Turkey. The town has in fact got three main beaches which are popular tourist attractions with Turkish and UK visitors.

There are restaurants and bars which cater for Turkish and Uk visitors, but mainly for UK visitors. To experience mainly Turkish food travel a little further to Didum,it is worth the trip.

Trabzon has interesting tourist attractions,some date back to ancient empires in the area. In the city of Trabzon there are small shops, and restaurants surrounding a square in the city centre called the "Meydan" which has a tea garden.

Altinkum is close to Ancient sites which include Miletos and Ephesus. The resort is about thirty minutes from Bodrum Airport.

Another beautiful place to visit in Turkey and a great tourist attraction is Unzungol (Long Lake). This area has become very poular because of it's natural beauty and the backdrop of mountain forests. Nearby a number of Restaurants, Hotels, Gift shops and Souvenir shops have been carefully planned to cater for the tourists,but without intruding on the natural beauty of the area.

For those interested in museums visit Trabzon Museum located in the town centre. Here you will be able to view interesting exhibits of the region which include Byzantine-era artifacts.

To combine a shopping experience with history go to the Trabzon's Bazaar District, walk down the narrow streets which run to Meydan (Town Square)

Another place of historical interest is Sumela Monastry which was founded by two Athenian Priests in the year 386 AD, during the reign of Emperor Theodosius Ad 375-395.
